Chevrolet recently announced that it would be releasing an all-new Police Pursuit Vehicle in addition to a Special Service Vehicle later this year. One of these vehicles will be a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe with law enforcement capabilities, including high-speed performance and a reliable design. This SUV is perfect for the demanding needs of law enforcement.

The Tahoe will be offered as a Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV), which has high-speed and dynamic capabilities. For instance, it will have a 5.3-liter V8 engine and a ten-speed transmission. The engine is tuned with parts from the Camaro ZL1 LT4 engine, and it has increased crankcase ventilation. There are also heavy-duty cooling systems and special Bridgestone tires.

“Tahoe models have been serving law enforcement since 1997 when the first Pursuit-Rated Package was introduced. Over the years, Chevrolet has continued to listen to officers and add new features and options with their needs in mind,” reads the Chevrolet press release.

There’s also a Special Service Vehicle (SSV), which is perfect for rugged terrain or slippery surfaces. This model has standard 4WD, Terrain Management, and a maximum trailering package to provide an impressive 8,200 pounds in towing capacity. Plus, drivers will also find a two-speed Autotrac transfer case and an integrated trailer brake controller that make towing and hauling simpler.

You don’t need to be a police officer to take advantage of most of the Tahoe PPV’s features. Just check out the Tahoe SUV at Greenbrier Chevrolet Buick!

Chevrolet has revised the timing for the launch of their refreshed new vehicles. Both the Chevrolet Equinox and Traverse are now going to be released in 2021 as 2022 models, rather than releasing in 2020 as 2021 models.

The Equinox is Chevy’s best-selling SUV, while the Traverse is the third best-selling Chevy nameplate. Fans of these nameplates can get excited about the new details on each vehicle as they’ll only make them even better.

Some of the improvements to look out for on the 2022 Equinox include redesigned front and rear fascias and a more aggressive grille. It will also be available in a new RS trim along with the L, LS, LT and Premier trims. The all-new Equinox RS includes a gloss black grille, black bowties and badging, as well as an RS shift knob and eye-catching red stitching.

The refreshed Traverse also gets redesigned front and rear fascias and all-new interior seating options. It also offers six safety features that are now standard on all trim levels and best-in-class cargo space. Other new features on the Traverse are a rear power sunshade on the available Dual SkyScape 2-panel power sunroof and an available 8-inch diagonal driver information center. New available wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ give the Traverse impressive connectivity and allow you to enjoy your vehicle’s interior.

At Greenbrier Chevrolet Buick, we think it’s a shame we’ll have to wait longer for the new Chevrolet Equinox and Traverse, though we’re no less excited for when the two SUVs do finally arrive. When they do, make sure to visit our showroom!

The Chevy Equinox has long been a family favorite thanks to its spacious interior, impressive safety tech, and sporty good looks. And for the 2022 model year, this sporty SUV will step up its game with refreshed styling, additional safety innovations, and premium cabin materials.

The Equinox’s new look will include aggressive headlights, a new front and rear fascia, and a redesigned grille. It will also offer the new RS trim level, which sports a striking design that includes a gloss black grille, 19-inch Dark Android wheels, and sporty black bowties, badges, and side rails. On the inside, the RS has black upholstery with contrasting red stitching and an exclusive RS-branded shifter knob.

The range-topping Premier trim level has also received some upgrades. This classy model makes a statement with its gloss-black-and-chrome grille, LED headlamps, and 19-inch machine-faced wheels. Its interior is equally sophisticated, with French stitching and a logo-projecting rear liftgate.

On top of these refreshed, refined features, the Equinox boasts a ton of standard safety technologies, including a following distance indicator, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision alert. You can also opt for Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, HD Surround Vision, and Automatic Parking Assist.

While this refreshed Equinox was originally set to launch in late 2020 as a 2021 model, it’s been pushed back to premiere in the 2021 calendar year as a 2022 model. To get the latest Chevy news, check back with us at Greenbrier Chevrolet Buick.
